Gabriola Island ~ How to Get Here & What to Do

From Vancouver Internation Airport:

by Seaplane - Tofino Air flies daily from the Millionaire Terminal, a scenic 15 minute flight to Silva Bay Marina (5 minutes from the house).  The $75.00 flight is worth every cent.

by Ferry - BC Ferries hourly service from either Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo, or Twassen to Duke Point allows you flexibility on timing and access to rental cars from the airport for use on the island should you need one.  From Nanaimo marina a 20 minute scenic ferry ride connects Vancouver Island with Gabriola Island.

From Victoria - Highway #1 allows a 1 1/2 hour coatal drive to the Gabriola ferry.

 

By Private Boat - A full service marina at Silva Bay (5 minutes from the house), and a boat launch beside our property in Degnen Bay, makes for a boaters dream.

Home to some of Canada’s most talented artists, musicians, writers.  

There are many Island studios to visit and concerts to attend. 

Alpaca Farm for hands on experience in Alpaca care and wool spinning.

An artisan Bakery is a short bike ride away for your breakfast.

Saturday & Sunday Farmers Markets with fresh organic produce, jams and baked goods, crafts and entertainment.

A Fabulous grocery and deli, fishmonger and organic butcher are close by, and several restaurants will complete the culinary choices.
